So I thought I would jump on the monthly faves bandwagon, it seems to me to be a lovely way to round up the month and reflect on all the lovely things I’m obsessing over.
I’ve tried to include a cross section of things; craft things, homewares and some beauty things. Let me know what you think! I know it’s a perculiar concept to say these are the objects I own which I really enjoy, but hey it’s a nice way to share things ( rather like an adult show and tell- which in my option was always one of the best bits of school) and to find out about new things.
April is always on of my fave months as it contains my birthday! But also because everything starts to get warmer and sunnier, people start smiling and I really feel like optimism is in the air! Even the rain doesn’t feel so dreary.
Let’s get started……
Geometric bowl- Tiger
I bought this bowl on impulse and I have no regrets about it, I love it. I picked it up in tiger, I think it was around £4/£5- I choose white because I love the crispness of it and feel like I need more white in my life. It’s currently looking stunning in my bedroom- not even holding anything just being resplendent in it geometricness! Perhaps I should upgrade it to being a fruit bowl or something!
My BFF Alice bought me the My Future Listography for my birthday and I LOVE it. It’s basically a book full of beautifully illustrated images and pages for you to fill in will allsorts of lists, from places you want to go to Halloween costumes you want to wear. Some of the lists are totally mad but others are a really lovely way to sit and think about what you want to achieve in your life. Even if you don’t want to fill it in, get it because the illustrations are gorgeous.
Kingston Mobilelite Wireless Device.
This has changed my life this month. The Kingston Technology Mobilelite Wireless ReaderEdit lets you wirelessly connect SD cards and USBs to any device wherever you are.
This means I can upload photos from an SD card to my IPad whilst on the train- it’s amazing. Plus it’s totally handbag sized so makes taking it on the go really handy. I totally recommend it, if like me you have loads of SD cards and want to edit things ASAP. You can also use it to take films and TV series on holiday without using the storage on your device- it can connect up to 5 devices at once so the whole family can be watching from different tablets and phones.
Flamingo Lights- Primark £6.00
I almost screamed in the middle of the Oxford Street Primark when I saw these- so cute and unusual and only £6.00 whatttt!!
I love a fairy light so this flock of pink flamingo fairy lights gets me so excited. Totally kistch and fun they add a little summer loving to any room.
80’s Glam Sharpie set.
I picked up the Sharpie 80’s Glam 24 PackEdit last month – I’d been lusting after it for aggesss and finally treated myself. I’m wondering why I didn’t get them sooner- they are all I’m reaching for at the moment. I’m particually mad for the pastel shades- so so pretty.
Hello marbling! I am madly madly in love.
I thought I was happy with nail varnish marbling until I got myself some actual marbling inks ( Scola 6 x 25ml Marbling Inks). Marbling has become my fave craft this month by far it’s so easy and you just can’t go wrong, it looks incredible whatever you do.This set comes with 6 inks; black, blue, red, yellow, green and orange a really great selection and they all complement each other beautifully! Check them out in action here and here!
I am a very recent LUSH convert and have become mental about their products. I never used to go in there as I thought it was just bath bombs and smelt really overpowering- how wrong I was!
My skin is very thankful to have the Ultrabland cleanser and skin drink moisturiser in its life. I now use both everyday as part of my skin routine and have seen a huge difference in my skin. The Skindrink Mouisturiser is the first moisturiser I’ve used that I feel really makes a difference in the long run not just in the hour after I’ve put it on.
I also discovered Smugglers Soul, one of LUSH’s Unisex Perfumes. I got the body Spray (£20.00) which I adore- it reminds me of a summer beach holiday in Cornwall. With Indian sandalwood ( which my brother thought was from an Indian flip flop) vetiver and lemongrass it is fresh but also really unique. Plus a little goes a long way and lasts all day.
Colour Freedom Mystic Purple Hair Colour.
I love having purple dip dyed hair, plus I love doing it at home. I’d used bleach london before which didn’t work very well, then tried Loreal before discovering the Colour Freedom colour in super drug. It comes in a massive tube which even with my massive mane of hair I’ve hardly used any of. So plenty more applications to go! It’s really conditioning too with Shea butter and argon oil.
The reason I really love it, is it has subtly got some really lovely tones in it, some electric blues as well as different shades of purple which look really professional. WIN!
Hope you enjoyed my April faves, let me know if you enjoying any of these things too!
